Filipino passport holders are not automatically eligible for conditional UAE entry. Current ICP services include Philippine ordinary-passport holders—and qualifying family members—only when they also hold an accepted foreign visa, residence permit or US Green Card. Eligible travellers can compare separate 14- and 60-day routes; others should review a standard 30- or 60-day tourist route before travel.
Which route should a Filipino traveller check?
- Confirm an ordinary Philippine passport valid at least six months.
- Check the foreign document: US/EU/UK visa or residence, US Green Card, or residence permit from Japan, South Korea, Australia, Canada, Singapore or New Zealand.
- If it matches, compare the full conditional-entry matrix.
- If it does not, review standard tourist options.
Status check matrix
| Example foreign status | Current ICP treatment |
|---|---|
| Valid US visa/residence or Green Card | Listed status type |
| Valid UK/EU visa or residence permit | Listed status type |
| Canadian/Japanese/Australian/Singapore/New Zealand/South Korean residence permit | Listed status type |
| Visitor visa from those six non-US countries | Not listed as a qualifying status on the current service pages |
| No qualifying foreign status | Conditional route not established; review standard route |
14-day or 60-day?
| Field | 14-day conditional route | 60-day conditional route |
|---|---|---|
| Pre-entry validity | 30 days | 30 days |
| Stay | 14 days from entry | 60 days from entry |
| Extension | Once for 14 days | Not extendable |
| Official issuance + smart fees | AED 100 + AED 100 | AED 250 + AED 100 |
| Completion | 2 days | 2 days |
The 60-day route is single-entry. The current 14-day service page does not explicitly label entry type, so do not assume it.
Why “visa on arrival” can be confusing
News and search results use that phrase, but ICP’s live services include Smart Services application steps and 30-day pre-entry validity. Treat the issued document and official service instructions as controlling; do not arrive assuming nationality alone creates eligibility.
Standard tourist option
If conditional eligibility is not established, compare 30-/60-day visa types, prepare the standard visa requirements, and review price and processing guidance.
Scenarios
Philippine passport + valid Canadian permanent residence: current ICP service wording includes Canadian residence; confirm documents and route.
Philippine passport + Canadian tourist visa: current ICP wording lists Canadian residence, not a Canadian visitor visa. Do not assume eligibility.
Family group: the services mention qualifying family members, but each traveller’s nationality, passport and status evidence must be confirmed.
