Use the official system connected to the application: GDRFA Dubai for Dubai-issued files and ICP for Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah. A pending, returned, rejected or issued application needs a different next step. ICP offers an entry-permit amendment service, but correction eligibility depends on the authority, permit and error—so do not assume every issued visa can be changed identically.

How to check UAE visa status

Dubai-issued application or permit: GDRFA Dubai

Use the GDRFA Dubai Application Status Tracker for an application. The current tracker requests the email address, Emirates ID and application reference number used in the application. GDRFA also provides a Visa Status service to verify entry/residence permits and validity.

Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah or Fujairah: ICP

Use ICP Smart Services or the ICP account used for the request. ICP’s current FAQ says users can open My Applications/My Requests, use application tracking with an application number starting 010, or contact the ICP call centre.

Issuing route Official system Details commonly needed in current official guidance
Dubai / GDRFA GDRFA application tracker or visa-status service Application reference, application email and Emirates ID where applicable
Other listed emirates / ICP ICP My Applications or Smart Services tracking Application number; ICP FAQ describes numbers starting 010 for tracking

Use the fields requested by the live official tool. Do not enter passport or application data into an unverified third-party status website.

Application status versus visa validity

  • Application status answers whether a submitted request is pending, returned, approved/issued or rejected in the official workflow.
  • Visa/entry-permit validity checks an already issued document’s issuance and expiry information.
  • Permitted stay is the authorized time after entry and is not automatically the same as the pre-entry validity window.

What Visagator can and cannot check

Visagator can help locate an inquiry reference it issued, review information provided by a traveller and direct the traveller to the appropriate official route. No authorized evidence shows that Visagator has direct access to ICP or GDRFA government status systems. The site’s supplier-onboarding portal is not a traveller visa tracker.

Lead with the official tool. If a third party submitted the application, ask that submitting channel for its application reference and any authority message.

UAE visa correction after issuance

Do not travel on the assumption that a critical mismatch will be ignored. Compare the issued permit character by character with the passport, including name, passport number, nationality and date of birth. Then identify which authority issued it.

What official correction evidence exists?

ICP has an official Amendment of Visa Data service for an entry permit issued by ICP. Its current service page lists:

ICP amendment item Published detail
Service scope Request to amend an entry permit issued by ICP
Channel ICP Smart Services website or ICP Smart App
Conditions Passport valid for more than six months
Documents displayed Passport and personal photo; some categories also show a letter specifying the amendment
Official fees AED 50 application fee + AED 100 smart-service fee
Service completion 2 days

The page does not establish that every error type is amendable, that a Dubai-issued permit uses this service, or that cancellation and a new application will never be required. The correct outcome depends on the authority’s review.

Safe correction path

  1. Stop and compare the permit with the passport.
  2. Capture the exact field and the correct passport value.
  3. Identify ICP, GDRFA Dubai or the submission channel.
  4. Ask whether amendment is available for that issued permit and error.
  5. Submit only through the applicable official/submitting channel.
  6. Wait for an updated official document or instruction before travelling.

Visagator cannot promise a successful correction. If the authority requires cancellation, a new application or another action, follow the official case-specific instruction.

UAE tourist visa rejected — what to do next

First distinguish rejection from a delay or a returned request. Check the official tracker and obtain any message from the submitting channel. UAE authorities control approval; Visagator cannot override a decision or guarantee a new outcome.

Does the authority always give a reason?

GDRFA Dubai’s current Fees and Guarantee Refund Service says the reason is usually stated when conditions are not met, but if no reason is stated, the authority reserves the right not to disclose it. This is why Visagator does not publish a speculative “top rejection reasons” list.

Officially documented GDRFA return/rejection conditions

GDRFA states that an application can be automatically rejected if required information is not completed within 30 days after it is returned for completion, or if it is returned three times for incomplete information and missing documents. These are documented workflow conditions—not a comprehensive list of all reasons an authority may reject an application.

Problem-solving checklist

  • Confirm that the official status actually says rejected, rather than pending or returned.
  • Obtain the application reference, submitted copy and authority/submitting-channel message.
  • Review names, passport number, nationality, date of birth, passport validity and route selection against the submitted documents.
  • Respond to any officially requested information through the original channel.
  • Ask the issuing/submitting channel whether a reason or case-specific next step is available.
  • Do not reapply, amend or cancel solely on a competitor’s generic reason list.
  • If preparing a new inquiry, disclose the previous application accurately and expect a fresh authority decision.

This checklist does not imply that a data change will reverse a rejection or that reapplication is always permitted or advisable.

Refund caveat

For GDRFA Dubai, the current refund service says only issuance fees, health-insurance fees and financial guarantees shown on the payment receipt can be refunded when the main application is rejected, subject to its stated conditions and methods. This is route- and receipt-specific. It is not a universal UAE rule and does not determine a separate private provider’s refund policy. Review Visagator’s refund and cancellation policy for the commercial inquiry relationship.

Traveller scenarios

Status tool shows no record

Recheck whether the application was Dubai/GDRFA-issued or belongs in ICP, then verify the reference with the submission channel. “No record” in the wrong system is not proof of rejection.

Passport number differs on the issued permit

Do not assume the mismatch is safe. Contact the issuer. If it is ICP-issued, ask whether the Amendment of Visa Data service applies; for a Dubai-issued permit, use the GDRFA/submitting channel. Wait for official resolution before travel.

Application was returned for more information

Treat it as a request with a deadline, not automatically as final rejection. Follow the official message promptly and preserve evidence of the submission.

Official sources

Official tools and procedures can change. Use the live authority page and the original submission channel for the case.

Need to prepare a new inquiry?

After checking the official status and reviewing the previous application, you may submit accurate details for a new Visagator inquiry or quotation review. This is not a correction, appeal or approval guarantee.
